Letter from the Principal

3/19/2020

A letter was emailed to all parents on the 19th March in relation to the current school closure.
All the staff at Scoil Naomh Iósaf hope that our children and families are blessed with good health and well being at this difficult time. We will keep parents updated with the latest news from the Department of Education by email and on this website. The letter from Ms. Hennessy also included a number of suggestions for parents in the event that children need alternative or further work for the coming weeks.

The letter and additional documents including a parent pack for children in our junior classes are available for download below:

Is there a possibility for sheets to be printed and posted to homes that don’t have computers or printers (home packs for 6th class twinkl)

Thank you for your inquiry Jessica. Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment. 6th class pupils can continue to work on their project on the 1916 Easter Rising.

If your child requires additional work I would highly recommend that they engage in some of the writing activities that were emailed as these will foster creativity, help to revise spelling and enrich their writing skills.

If your child wishes to complete the Twinkl packs, may I suggest that they choose a number of pages that suit their needs and then complete the work in their copy. While they will not be able to complete the colouring sheets or word search, other worksheets such as the Katie Taylor or Trees Information could be read online and answered in the copy. By doing this your child will be both practicing their reading and consolidating their comprehension skills.

I hope this will help. I know this is a difficult time for families.
Kind regards,
Mairead
