You are very welcome to the website of Scoil Naomh Iosaf (SNI). Our school is located in the beautiful town of Baltinglass, with wonderful views of the Wicklow Mountains! We have a welcoming and caring school atmosphere where every child is nurtured and encouraged to do their best. Our approach to education is focused on helping children to learn and flourish during their time in SNI, as well as preparing them children for their future lives. We currently have 395 pupils on roll, 31 teachers, 11 Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) and three special classes for pupils with Autism .
We provide a high quality, child centred and active programme of education for all the pupils in our care. We are focused on excellence in education while also providing a wide range of activities to ensure a holistic education and to ensure that the interests and talents of all the children in SNI are catered for. Over the course of the year, children partake in GAA, Hurling, Athletics, Choral Music, School Choir,
Dance and Drama, Guitar Lessons, Chess, Brickflicks Stop Motion Animation, Ukrainian Dance and Swimming.
Scoil Naomh Iósaf is a happy, friendly school where everyone is made welcome. We work in close partnership with our school parents, the Parents’ Association, Board of Management and our Local Community. Our school secretary, Rachel, is always ready to welcome you when you call and is available at [email protected] if you wish to email. Patsy our caretaker, keeps the school building and grounds in great condition, while Margaret and Mary our two cleaners, keep the school and classrooms clean and organised for the children.
We are very proud of our school and of our pupils, parents and staff. We live our mission statement and want the best possible outcome for each student in our school.

Scoil Naomh Iosaf (SNI) is a warm, welcoming and inclusive school with caring and dedicated teachers who promote excellence in education and ensure the children are happy and well cared for. We have bright modern classrooms, an extensive outdoor playing area and a large football field. We also have a fabulous playground with swings, slides, seesaw, carousel and fun climbing towers.
At SNI, pupils have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of sports, including, GAA coaching, Basketball, Dance and Drama, Cross Country, Tag Rugby and Swimming. Music is also very important in our school and we have a wide range of musical activities, including, school choir, Music Generation, class ukulele lessons, small group guitar lessons, traditional Irish music and our School Band. Children can also take part in our after school Sports Club or STEM club. Our school Admissions Policy is available on the Admissions section of our school website. The Admissions Notice for the school year 2026/2027 and the admissions forms are published below. The school will commence admissions and enrolment for Junior Infants in September 2026 from October 1st 2025. |
