Hi everyone and welcome to the student council’s first digital newsletter. We hope to bring you regular update about the events in our school.
Spring is in the air! Last week during school time the Junior infant classes went on a lovely spring walk around the school looking for signs of nature and as well as that the senior infants and junior Réalta who went to the Tearmann gardens for their spring walk. Senior infants also designed their own garden! | Ms Phelan and Ms Maher set up a debate team. There were seven people on the team and after all their hard work staying back late doing multiple debates on Zoom, they made it to the final in the Kildare County Chambers. We argued in favour of the proposal that the business sector has the most important role in achieving the SDGs in Ireland. While the opposing team, St Patrick N.S, Morristown, Newbridge argued for the opposite and thankfully our school came out on top and we are now going forward into the last 32 schools in Ireland. Well done to the debate team and we wish them all the best of luck going forward. |
At the start of the year Mr Walshe set up a quiz team composed of 4th , 5th , and 6th class students. They participated in a Credit Union Quiz against many other schools in Wicklow. Both teams won 1st place and are now going forward to the Leinsters. Best of luck on Saturday! | |
