The children in Ms. Beirne's Junior Infants have spent the last few weeks learning all about the lifecycle of the butterfly. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and enjoyed learning about the different stages in a butterfly's life. We worked together, during art time, to create a collage showing each of the different stages.

We also read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar as Gaeilge, Dónall An Chlúimh Agus An-Ocras Air. We learned the Irish for all the different foods and we were able to retell the story as Gaeilge with the help of some story props.

We also got some caterpillars that we are going to watch change into butterfies over the next few weeks. We are really excted to watch them grow and change!
